Welcome To:
 Music and The Arts

Hello, My name is Carmella Mae Dunkin. My husband Dan and I both have always loved music, and I enjoy drama, so it only makes sense that we would come up with a site calledMusic And The Arts.My love for music began as a very young child, but I was always afraid to let anyone hear me sing. I sang in choirs in high school, and took drama classes, and I was a member of a Freelance Repertory group in the 9th grade. I left all that behind after high school and became a wife and mother. Then in 2003, (8 children later), I joined our Church choir and did my first solo. I enjoyed it so much that I started singing solos every Sunday that our choir director would let me. Then in 2005 I got involved with the local community theatre and was cast in the musical Godspell. That was an awesome experience and brought back my long lost love for the theatre. Since Godspell I have done costumes for four plays at the community theatre in Shelbyville, Indiana, "Wait Until Dark", "Something Funny Happened On The Way To The Forum", "The Crucible", and "Harvey". All four plays were great fun even though I was not
cast in them, it still was a joy to be in the theatre and work
with all the actors. Now in 2013, I have started a children's drama group,
"Jr. Mountain Players". We are now in our third year, with our first two plays being, "A Child Shall Lead Them" in 2011 and "A Christmas To Believe In" in 2012. So far we have only done Christmas plays at the Florissant Grange, but hope to add at least one more play to our group this year. My hope is to grow the group into an all age community group, that adults as well as kids can be a part of.Besides being involved with drama and kids, my greatest love is singing Praises to our Father God! I am a part of our church's Prayze Team, Ladies Ensemble, Choir, Hand Bell Choir, and I sing solo still, ever oportunity I get!

Another art form that I love is photography. My youngest daughter jokes that I shoot EVERYTHING, with my camera of course, LOL Dan was surrounded by music from his dad being a choir conductor, and playing instruments. Dan started playing piano as a young boy, but enjoyed drums more, and eventually went to guitar. He also enjoys singing, and still plays piano a little. We both love singing together, and would love to be part of a quartet some day, or even start up our own music group!Another thing we've always enjoyed is crafting, yes this is an art as well, and one you will find here as well. I especially enjoy designing and creating jewelry, especially with gold and silver wire, and Swarvoski Crystals. I will also be putting some other crafts I do on this site, as well as some of my Dan's art work, (he's really good). So check back often, because this site will grow, and grow, and grow.
